J/DB’s 12 Days of Lists – Day 10 – Most Indicitave Hair

Welcome to Day 10 – Top Three Most Indicative Hair Changes of 2009

He may be slightly late-great now but Raising the Bar’s Jerry Kellerman’s hair was the Felicity of the season.  One way to start things off with a bang is to take a running joke and character indicator and cut it off.  Our beloved [...]

J/DB’s 12 Days of Lists – Day 12 – Influential Movements in TV 2000-2009

Well it’s that time of year again!  JDB’s 12 days of … something.  Last year we had fun counting the 12 ways Claire Bennett was related to Santa Clause.  If you weren’t with us last year, be sure to check that out.  But this year we decided to go with something we love here on [...]

Raising the Bar Gets Canned

This week TNT declared that they will not be renewing Raising the Bar.  I’m honestly disappointed with this decision from a fan, – content based position.  I understand it was strategically inevitable with the numbers it was pulling but the show was good.   It featured great characters, interesting story lines, great guests and awesome hair. [...]

Raising the Bar’s Summer Season Winds to an End

Raising the Bar is one of my staple summer shows for the second year in a row.  It often gets overshadowed by the awesomeness that are bigger shows like TNT’s own Leverage or True Blood, even Defying Gravity’s got me a little more riled up but it shouldn’t be forgotten or buried.  There’s something to [...]

Early Summer Round-up

With less than two weeks to go to Leverage and a bunch of our summer shows back up and running it’s fair to say the summer season is in full swing.  I thought I’d update you with a collection of thoughts on the shows I’m watching instead of rambling on about each one enough to [...]

Questionable Advocacy

This week’s episode of Raising the Bar was filled with comments about perception, rights and stereotypes with the episodes main case being a questionable assault ruling between three young black men and a gay man.  (Clever scheduling for Pride week! Yay Pride!) Who was in the wrong was thrown around a lot, was it a [...]

JDB Actor BINGO: Day 2

While we promise the blog wont be reduced to the game only we post today’s play back to back with yesterdays.  We hope you had luck and think this one should help you get started.
Toronto’s own Jonathan Scarfe has been working in television for 16 years despite his still relatively unknown status.  He started out, [...]

Raising the Bar returns to TV

Raising the Bar premiered with the perfect second season premiere.  It was the most self aware second season premier I’ve ever seen.  The storyline did a great job of winding it’s way through the characters, reminding you of all the little thing’s about them you’d forgotten over the past few months.
Gilardi’s trouble with her husband [...]

Just A Reminder

Raising the Bar season two kicks off tonight! This time we’ll both be watching the show from the start of the season, too!
Here’s hoping Jerry’s new hair grows on me, but honestly I’m just happy that not only are both the new TNT shows I liked back for a second season, but they’re both back [...]

I Think Castle is Pulling a RTB

Tonight is the finale to the first season of Castle, and while I’ve seriously loved the show, it doesn’t feel like it’s been building up to anything that would work as a finale. The only thing I can think of (which may already be known, I’ve purposely not looked up any episode descriptions) is something [...]
